Week 5  term 4.... Ending friday 19th Nov.

What a wonderful week we have had at school, with all our wonderful Children who felt ok about returning to school after 3 months of having to stay home.

As some of our children have decided with their Parents that they would continue to stay home and participate in Disatnce learning programmes, I truely want to acknowledge how much we miss having all our children back at school.

We also certainly respect our parents chioce to keep children at home.

Our play grounds tho were not the same at all as we only had les than half the school returning through out the week.

There have been so many amazing changes happening around the school in 3 months.

We now have class room numbers for each class room that look really cool and groovy based on all our school values.๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Look even closer and you will see that we now have a Pasifika Fale (House)covering the small stage area, outside rooms 12,13.

Sooooooo many children have played on, ran through, lay in, laughed in, dramatised in, talked in, slept in, and eaten in our Pasifika Fale  this week.

Malo, Faafetai lava! Ia manuia Mitaki Lahi...๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

It truely is a great asset to our play ground, and getting lots of use.

As you drive up the long drive way from Peter Buck road, you will se such awesome signs up again, displaying our school values.

There are a few more surprises that are added additions to our school environment, which I will leave for you to discover.

Take care out there everyone, remember to wear a mask, sanitise, and keep your distance are rules that we still need to be following.

Stay safe until next week!๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜€

NAMASTE NAMASTE NEW WINDSOR COMMUNITY:)

We have just finished a wonderful week of festive celebrations where the focus for the week was on the wonderful and colourful Hindu celebration of DIWALI.

THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS.

There are five days as observed days for Diwali celebrations.

Dhanteras: Worship of wealth.

Naraka Chaturdasi: Choti (small) Diwali

Laxmi Pooja: Diwali

Govardhan Pooja: Bali Padyami

Bhai Dooj: Love between brothers and sisters.

Many of our students have posted to their blog pages what they have learnt or sharing facts about the

Diwali festival of lights celebration.

In our bubble school we had a beautiful and yummy morning tea where our awesome learning assistant Mrs Falguni put on a scrumptious Diwali morning tea.

Everyone else bought a plate of food to share and we swapped small gifts which each other .

The tables were adorned with moving lights that Mrs Abercrombie especially brought into school to add to the festivities.

It was a wonderful morning tea where we also learnt about the actual importance of the celebration too.

How did you celebrate Diwli in your house if you celebrate diwali at this special time of the year?

Please take time to check out some of your childs class /student blogs on the festivities this week .

Happy Diwali everyone!

WEEKLY BLOG :Week ending, Week 2, term 4  Friday 29th October.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜„✋✋๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

And here we are at the end of week 2 of term 4 already.

The weeks are just racing past!

We have had a good week at Bubble School with our children constantly showing and displaying to each other our New Windsor Values , especially being kind anhd respectful to each other .

We the bubble school staff really do apreciate our 2 bubble class students  attendees, and thank them for showing such good manners and resilence in times that matter.

Today they were all out side socually distanced enjoying an arts and craft day , then the rain came to visit๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

This  didnt dampen  our moods as we moved the activities into the hall space, again, socially distancing.

So we have now been given a tentative date for Primary Schools to be returning, with the emphsis on the word : Tentative. What ever that means.

We await more details from Minister Chris Hipkins as to what Staggered attendance looks like, and means.

AGAIN, THE BEST AND SAFEST PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO BE AT THE MOMENT, IS AT HOME.

Have you taken time to read some of our student blogs and class blogs?

There are some very creative and well composed stories written by students that will keep you as the audience captivated to read on..

Please check out and comment on  our class/student  blogs as our teachers and students put a lot of work into these.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

A final reminder that the Ministry of Education rules for Halloween are:

At alert level 3, tamariki will not be able to go trick or treating on Sunday.

While we cant celebrate Halloween in the usual way, there are are alternative options you can do at home in your bubble.

Try a Halloween themed scavenger hunt in your back yard.

Decorate your house in a spooky dtyle.

Have a virtual costume party via zoom with friends and whanau.

Watch a movie with popcorn and other treasts togther as a whanau.

Happy Halloween going out to everyone, for those that do like to celebrate the occassion.

Take care over the weekend, stay safe, and keep smiling๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Naku noa,

Weekly Blog .Week 10 of term 3 Friday October 1st.

Who would of thought we would get to the end of term 3 and be spending more time in Pandemic lock down than actually at school being face to face , enjoying being with our friends and getting on with learning...๐Ÿ“€๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“—๐Ÿ“˜๐Ÿ“™๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ก

There is a saying that goes:

A pinch and a punch for the first of the month, which is a saying to wish good tidings upon us all at the beginning of a new month.

We have been very busy with Bubble School class this week and getting on with the business of making learning fun. Our  Essential workers children have been a pleasure to have at bubble school, and are looking forward to fun times at home during the holidays.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿ‘ฉ

As the holidays approach we wait in anticipation as we get to find out on Mondays Covid briefing how long we will be in level 3 for.

Next term being term 4,  will begin with the Celebration of Niuean and Cook Island language weeks which will feature many activities for students to engage in as a class and as individuals .

I would like to end this blog  with a very speacial Thank you message to all our Parents and students for keeping calm and carrying on in making what we all could out of a very topsy tervy unpredictable  term 3.

We have all shown and put into  practice  our school vales of resilence, co operation, being respectful ans collaborating as a few examples over lock down distance learning programmes times of term 3.

This was clearly evident on the daily  class zooms meetings as far as our students connecting and coping with learning of a new type that could be our norm for the way that future learning will/may  happen.

Thank you one and all for your support , and maanakitanga towards our teachers and distance learning programmes requirements.

It is now time for us all to disconnect with our learning devices and create some fun times with our families and loved ones.

See you all in term 4, heres hoping we will have more weeks at school and not carrying on with many more weeks of having to be in level 3 ✌๐Ÿ‘Œ

Take care everyone, rest up, and be kind to each other.

Lets all go find some shine shine..

No Reira, me mitaki lahi ,

WEEKLY BLOG .WEEK ENDING FRIDAY 1ST OCTOBER.

last week of term 3.

Kia ora atu everyone..

We should all be celebrating moving to level 3!  this week. What great news for Aucklanders๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

We still have a long way to go yet, before we have contained the Delta Virus  tail but at least we have a little more freedom to move around, and to bring back some normality to our daily happenings.

This week saw the delivery of Ministry of Education learning packs to School.

A few staff were at School on Monday and Tuesday preparing the learning packs for Parents to collect from school over the rest of the week, and getting ready to open the bubble school classes for essential workers children starting Wednesday.

This whole process involves a full and deep clean of the classrooms , toilets, and any other room that is to be used over the next 8 teaching days of bubble school , taking us to the end of term 3, last day  of term being Friday 1st October. All door handles  and classroom surfaces must be  fully sanitised as well.

Our school cleaners also start their deep clean of all these rooms from 3.30 every day in order to keep all our areas super clean and sanitised ready for the next day.

It was loverly to see so many of our yr 1-4 Parents collecting a learning pack from school this week, they even came out in the pouring rain on Thursday !

Thank you Thank you๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ to you all for  BRAVING the rainy  stormy weather on Thursday.

We were not delivered any Yr 5-6 packs this time.๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜’

In saying that , we are very  very greatful to the Ministry of Education for delivering the learning packs.

A huge THANK YOU going their way.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ข

The learning packs are full of many learning activities (Enough to last 4 -6 weeks of learning and lots of special readers)and a few treats and goodies that our children will enjoy recieving.

If you would like a learning pack and have yet to pick one up, please go to school next week and you will be given one for child. This applies only to Yr 1-4  levels.

Next week we celebrate Chinese language Week  which takes us to the last day of term 3 on Friday 1st October.

Our bubble school  this week started on Wednesday and consisted of 2 classes  with less than 10 students in each. The  number of students allowed per bubble class is 10, so we were just under.

These children of all ages had so much fun , learning and connecting with each other over the first 3 days of bubble school .

There are so many important rules that need to be in place for bubble school attendance such as no touching/connecting with anyone.Keep 2 metres distance.

Masks are optional for students to wear, compolsory for all adults to wear.

Sanitising and the washing of  hands must take place at every appropriate time, with no play equipment and learning tools  allowed to be shared with anyone.

Each student has their own bag full of what they need for the day.

Our bubble school students  have adapted really well  to all the health and safety rules really quickly, and play their part in  helping to keep ourselves all safe too.

It is awesome to see them all working togther to help keep our health and saftey rules and processes in place and still smiling  when they go home at 2.45pm daily.

We now await the Government announcement on Monday Oct 4th, 4pm,

( to begin Tuesday 5th October ) as to whether we  change from level 3 to level 2 or not.

Heres hoping we do change levels, so that we can resume some normality to our daily lives , and all be able to venture out and about, as we enter into the first week of the Term 3 holidays.

5 learning days to go, lets make the most of the 5 days,

Keep safe , and keep smiling everyone, we are doing ok...WE GOT THIS✊✊✊✊๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Weekly Blog .  (Week ending Friday 3rd September)

New Windsor staff and learning Assistants have all been busy this week having all  their meetings as Zoom meetings. Many classes are  able to have  more than 1 zoom meeting in a day , and becoming very skilled at knowing how to connect online.

Who would of guessed that this is where we would all be and having to do, at this time of the year.

One  advantage of being in lock down is that we are all at home with  our families, and not having  to get up early  go to work or to School.

The  DELTA VARIENT is a very dangerous one, and we all need to be keeping ourselves safe in our bubbles. The biggest message that we all need to follow is the one that we are hearing over and over again:

STAY HOME, STAY HOME TO STOP THE SPREAD OF DELTA IN THE COMMUNITY.

As a country we are very fortunate that our Government is quick to act on getting us all   to help in stopping the airborne virus spreading.

We are definitly a team of 5 million!๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ’

A huge thank you to our New Windsor Community our children, and adults for doing your part in keeping us all safe, especially your bubbles.

All around the world there are still  many countries in lock down.

Children in India have not been able to go back to school and are still learning from home after  a year plus   of  having to learn from home .

England have only just opened up their Schools this week  after many months in lock down.

Are we all able to connect with our class zooms ?

If you have any  questions  about your learning from home connect with your teacher .

All staff emails are on the New Windsor School Website.

Have a restful weekend everyone.๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Do  make  sure that you get to spend some time outside as well.Go for a walk with your family ,

Spend time playing outside.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ฆ

The sun gives us our dose of vitamin D๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ข The sun is one of the  ways in which we can get our daily  vitamin D, when playing outside, or just being out doors on a sunny day.

Happy weekend,

WEEK 5 Of Term 3.       (Week ending  Friday 27th August.)

Talofa Lava Eveyone:)

We are now entering our first full week of the whole country being in  Lock down level 4.

Level 4 takes us all a bit of getting used to as we all adjust ourselves to being in our family bubbles, and establishing  routines  around the house.

This also is the first full week of Distance learning programmes.

All our teachers have spent many hours preparing for their class  distance learning programmes.

There are a few Zoom rules that will help class zooms run smoothly.

Some of these tips are:

*Turn your microphones off until you are ready to speak.

*Use the hand button when wanting to speak, to show your hand is up waiting for your turn.

*Turn your camera on, so that everyone can see each other on the zoom meeting.

*Be ready and prepared  by setting up your device 10 minutes before the time that your teacher has set the class zoom meeting for. Have an adult close by in caase you need help in connecting.

* A friendly smile ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡ goes a long way on a Zoom.

Happy class zoom meetings eveyone.๐Ÿ‘ช๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘€

Our teachers have spent time on Thursday preparing class sites, class blogging pages for distance learning programmes from home to begin thursday of this week.

Our Team of 5 million as our Prime Minister states kicked into action in preparing families and loved ones for level 4.

It is SOOOOOOO IMPORTANT that we all follow the guidelines of level 4, the most important one being :

STAY HOME KEEP SAFE .STAY HOME EVERYONE. STAY HOME. KEEP SAFE.

New Windsor students,Make sure that you connect with your classroom teacher so that you can be engaged in your class Distance Learning programme that your teacher has put togther for you.

I have joined in on some classroom Zooms/Google meet sessions this week .

It has been so loverly to see so many of our students on Zoomz/Google Meets online and the AMAZING  creativity that they have been coming up with around their daily learning activities.

We really should keep a gallery of some of the learning  creativity that we are seeing.

Our students are so proud of what they can do as well, as are we the teachers and learning Assistants.

A huuuge Thank you also to our Parents and adults who are supporting our children with their Distance learning Programmes.

Its a team effort in the home environment as well, and for this we say ; THANK YOU,KIA ORA!

The Junior class blog pages are full of AMAZING ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ stories and  HAPPENINGS.

check out the many pictures and photos of learning as well.

I am going to sign off now and hop onto some classroom blog pages to see what classes have been up to while engaging in distance Learning. and post comments.

Take care everyone, and remember,

WE GOT THIS NEW WINDSOR FAMILY!๐Ÿ‘✊✊✊✊๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜

WEEK 3 OF TERM 3. ending Friday 13th August.

TESTING TESTING TESTING...๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ‘ค๐Ÿ‘ค๐Ÿ‘ค๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

This week all our teachers have been focussing on testing  their students to see what their reading levels are at, and what progress has been made since returning from the holidays.

Why do we Test?

In teacher language we call this Assessment of learning.

Assessment /Testing in curriculum areas is carried out so that we can see where teachers need to contribute to the improvement of the learning in each classroom.

By Assessing  what is learnt on a regular basis we are able to :

Improve on our teaching and learning.

Summarise achievements.

Monitor individual levels of achievement.

These achievements are very important when it comes to report writing as well.

I have  had the pleasure of being in many different classrooms this week, working with the class while the teacher has focussed on assessing childen in writing,  and reading '

I have been very impressed with the ways in which our Junior classes have been focussing on their learning, and embedding our school values into the ways in which they work togther with each other and in support of each others learning.

Definitly my bag of fale tokens had to be filled up again very quickly as so many tokens were given out  to those who were focussing on learning activities, which was very much EVERYONE in the class.

Well done junior classes! I was VERY PROUD OF YOU ALL๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ป

Are you all getting ready for the olympic games 2020 to begin?

Our Teachers have been very engaged this week with lots  of learning for themselves  with our Maths Proffessional development programme called Dmic.

DMIC stands for : Developing Mathematical  Inquiry Communities.

This is an exciting way to teach Maths and our teachers  have ongoing observations by special DMIC mentors in how they are putting into practice all that they are learning from the Proffessional development sessions.

This week we were fortunate to be able to have our learning Assistants attend a PD session with our DMIC facilitators. They all found this very informative and great new learning for when they are in classrooms during maths Teaching times.

DMIC is a great maths teaching programme/pedagogy from which our Students are becoming more engaging in Maths discussions.

I hope the week has been kind to everyone and that the weather stays sunny and fine as well for the weekend.๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒŸ

week 3 has snuck up upon us being:  24th May -28th May

The week has started off with lots of meetings and a zoom meeting with the Social Sciences writing team.

Being a part of the Social Sciences refresher critiquing of the writing team has meant being ab;e to draw on all areas of Junior Social stusies knowledge where we are able to put togther topics that we would be covering at yrs 1-3 levels so that the upper levels can relate to what they would be covering at the more complex higher levels.

The model or pedagogy that is being looked  at for the document is:

based on 3 contexts of:

KNOW

KNOWLEDGE

DO

More  ABOUT This AT A LATER DATE.

Have a great week everyone.

Translated means: Where we come from and who we come from.

lANGUAGE IDENTITY AND CULTURE

Is a pivotal component of who Pasifika peoples are and the values that are strongly embedded within

 Pasifika peoples .

Take outs from the Fono were:

Building Cultural confidence with our Children to enable them to be confident speakers and leaders.

Pasifika Champions are Pasifika peoples (Parents, Grand Parents relatives, Aiga, Fanau,Teachers/Faiagoa)

who mentor and  encourage our pasifika children to build their capacity in all areas of growing in leadership, and other areas such as the four pillars of well being:

 WEEK 9 POSTING TERM 1....

Easter is nearly here...

Parent conferences was a huuuge success with many of our parents in attendance.

We have reached our Target of getting at least 80-90 percent of parents in attendance.

This is such a huge success and a even bigger thank you to our Teachers for all their efforts and work gone into room environmemt, and compiling what to share with parents around the learner profile;

Over 100 students stayed till 3pm which meant we had to be super organised with occupying that amount of children.

We now have a plan for when it rains, which we put into place over the 2 days.

A huge thak you to the team that supervised the 100 students.

A job done well by everyone.

Also, it is now EASTER, so happy Easter to everyone, may we all ret up!

and spend quality time with family.

Hope you all get los of EASTER EGGS TOOO......๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

 WEEK 8 TERM 1 POST:

How wonderful it is to be a part of the AKO HIKO CLUSTER!

As we did last week, we hosted administrators for a AKO HIKO PD SESSION in looking at programmes for admin in google docs, sheets as well as for support staff from other schools.

Our New Furniture in the staffroom is allowing us to have a cafe style PD so that furniute can be moved to fit the purpose of the meeting.

We have now haeld 4 such sessions where our staffroom has turned into a cafe PD environment.

Next TIME  I WILL TAKE A PHOTO and share it so that we can see how the furnitur is adaptable and used for fit for purpose.

A huge shout out to Tumuaki Lisa, for ordering the right type of furnutire!!!!

This was a wonderful way of connecting with Pasifika families via Talanoas which went on for over an hour.

One of the activities was to state what changes they could see as Parents and how awesome it was that sooooo many changes were noted.

Our Pasifika parents are very happy with the re branding and the direction that the shool is going in.

Special mention and acknowledge went out to out PATUIKI (Principal ) lisa, for having the vision, and driving the vision forward.

The night finished with a shared  kai where we were able to sitalongside each other and enjoy the variety of Pasifika foods bought in by our Parents.

Week 3 post Fri 19th Feb.

We are well under way with our Rm 5 reading Programme, and are really looking forward to

Sharing with everyone how well are Children are reading.

Reading is a very important skill that will allow Children to go far in their lives in interpreting data and what everything around them says.๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’Ÿ.

There are 3 types of reading ways that we promote with our Junior Cildren.

READING TO๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ช

                   READING BY..๐Ÿ‘ฑ

 READING WITH.. ๐Ÿ‘ญ

Reading TO  is when an adult reads with The child.

Reading BY is when the child does the reading to an adult or someone else.

Reading WITH is when the reading is done together.

Please read a book each night in the 3 different ways that READING can be done.

WE LEARN TO READ, TO READ TO LEARN....

Ni Hao Ma New Windsor School

What a wonderful photo Booth display was seen this morning, Friday 12th February as we Celebrated  with our Chinese Families and wider Community Chinese New Years day.

There was a buzz of  excitement as we had Parents showing children how to use Chinese puppets, write their name in Chinese and  other activities.

Our Chinese students make up 12 percent of our School Student population, and to be able to show case and Acknowledge such a significant occassion was wonderfully awesome.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Many of our Students and staff wore RED ๐Ÿ’“ and many photos were taken with families, staff and by families this morning at the special Chinese New Years Photo booth that was set up by Parents and Learning Assistants at 7.30 am this morning.

Many thanks to Carmen and her support Parents who were there to make this an exciting and Fun time for our Children as they entered the gates this morning.

may you all have a loverly weekend Celebrating with Families and loved ones, as we acknowledge the Year of the OX.๐Ÿ˜‡

The Ox is the second of all Zodiac animals.

According to the Chinese Zodiac, and  one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order of the Zodiac animals  would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The Ox was about to be the first to arrive, but the Rat tricked Ox into giving him a ride.

Then, just as they arrived, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox.

Thus, Ox became the second animalIf you were  born in the year of the Ox,

you are hard working, in the back ground.Intelligent and Reliable, and never demanding Praise.

HAPPY YEAR OF THE OX EVERYONE!
